NICMAC Champions

NICMAC Champions

Congratulations to all our dancers who were competing at NICMAC on Saturday 9th March in Lisburn.  The girls have worked hard since October to perfect their routines which they all performed superbly on Saturday.  The Junior dance was 'Nicest Kids in Town' which was led by a group of Form 4 pupils - Rachel Neale, Leah Howe, Seren Evans and Annie Heavern under the supervision of Dept Games Captain Sophie Neale and Miss Lyttle.  The leaders choreographed and produced a brilliant routine for the team which was made up of Form 1 - 3 pupils and they only just missed out on being placed finishing 4th.

Emma and Sarah Hylands entered as an Intermediate Duet and performed their self-choreographed dance 'Opportunity'.  The sisters were also part of the two teams and so had two performances to work on but this did not affect the execution of their routine and they were placed 1st in their Creative Movement section.  Well done girls!

The Senior Dance team was led by Lauren Shankey in L6 and former pupil Jordan Hineson, who is now attending Bangor SERC.  It was brilliant to have Jordan back with us to choreograph and lead this dance with Lauren.  The title of the performance was 'Runnin' with the wolves' and the overall effect of the costumes, make-up and excellent dancing meant the team came away as winners of their section.  This is a fantastic achievement, well done to everyone on the team and the leaders but also to Miss Mallon and Sophie Neale for their help along the way.

Fabulous work girls, you've all done Strathearn proud! #ENCOURAGE#EMPOWER#EXCEL
