Uganda School Project

In July 2007, a team of staff and pupils went out to Uganda to build a home for street kids and work with pupils in one of the primary schools. This proved to be a very successful venture and a strategic experience for the individuals and the School, and has resulted in a determination to continue to support the education of young people in Uganda.
For some time, the School has donated old computers and text books to educational charities working in Africa. In December 2007, specific supplies of educational materials were gathered and sent out to school the team had worked in during the summer.
Our vision is now to raise sufficient funds to build a permanent building at the site of another school, Katalemwa Primary, which currently has a papyrus and tin structure. A committee of staff and pupils is leading our whole school community to a deeper understanding of opportunities for a global service and is helping to raise the sum of £50,000 which will build a seven class primary school.
