Music Department

Music is an art which brings pleasure to everybody. Our department aims to develop skills and provide experiences which will enable all students to make music to the very best of their ability and with as much enjoyment as possible.
The Music Department is currently staffed by two classroom teachers and 11 instrumental and vocal tutors.
Everyone in Key Stage 3 studies Music. It’s mainly a practical course, which includes playing keyboards, guitars and other instruments, composing original music, singing and using music technology.
Music is an option at GCSE, AS and A2.
Students can also get involved in choirs, orchestras and other ensembles.
There are three or more concerts each year, where soloists and ensembles perform in public.
