The School currently admits 110 girls each year into Year 8, and admission at this stage is conducted through the Transfer Offices of the Education and Library Boards.  The total enrolment number of the School is 770.

 

Transfer 2012 - Year 8 September 2012

The Criteria for entry into Year 8 for September 2012 are given in our Admissions Criteria  as published in the BELB Transfer Booklet.  Last year there were 157 applications for Year 8.  The process was as follows: 103 pupils who applied with a score of 95 or greater were admitted leaving a pool of 15 pupils with scores of 93 or 94.  From this we were able to admit 7 pupils who all had a score of 94, who were the eldest in their family and who lived within 14km of the School.

Strathearn is one of many Grammar schools where the result from the AQE Common Entrance Assessment will be an essential part of the admissions procedure for September 2012. 

The parents of all those pupils sitting the assessment in Strathearn should have received

Applications for other Years - September 2012

There are also places available for entry into the Sixth Form and occasionally into other year groups.  The criteria for entry into the Sixth Form are currently under review but those for last year may be downloaded below.

The School operates a waiting list and parents of prospective pupils should apply directly to the School.

Parents and students are very welcome to view the School and this can be arranged by contacting the Principal.
